An intumescent strip is a graphite-based fire sealing product contained within a plastic sleeve for fitting into a rebate of either the door leaves or the door frame. The intumescent strip expands when the heat from a fire comes in contact and seals the gap around the door to provide a safe and effective barrier against the passage of fire &smoke.
